How to Request a Rock Wool Board Quotation for Southeast Asia

September 19, 2026

A useful rock wool board quotation starts with more than a price per square metre. Your supplier needs to understand the application, board specification, order quantity and delivery destination. Missing details can lead to a quote for a different product or shipment scope than you intended.

For purchasing teams in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and other Southeast Asian markets, the checklist below helps put those details into one inquiry. You can also use it to compare supplier responses on the same basis.

Already have a specification? Send your rock wool board requirements to Taishi.

1. Describe where the boards will be used

Start with the application: exterior wall, curtain wall, roof or another specified assembly. Include the project specification or drawing reference where available. A density figure alone does not describe all the performance requirements of a board.

If your team has not selected a product, explain the intended use and ask which product data sheets are available for review by your project designer. Avoid treating a supplier’s general product description as approval for a particular building assembly.

Explore Taishi’s exterior wall rock wool boards, curtain wall stone wool boards and roof rock wool boards.

2. Put the dimensions and specification in writing

List the required length, width and thickness in millimetres, plus the specified density in kg/m³. State whether the product is unfaced or requires a particular facing. Include dimensional tolerances and any performance requirements from the project specification.

For a quotation with several thicknesses or board types, use separate line items. Ask the supplier to identify the proposed product model against each line, and to clearly mark any alternative specification.

If a requirement is undecided, write “please advise” instead of entering a number simply to complete the form. The purpose of the inquiry is to establish a suitable proposal, not to guess the final specification.

3. Give the quantity and keep the units consistent

State the quantity in square metres, cubic metres or pieces, and include the board dimensions so the supplier can cross-check it.

For example, a board measuring 1,200 × 600 mm covers 0.72 m². At 50 mm thickness, its nominal volume is 0.036 m³. An order of 1,000 such boards therefore represents 720 m² and 36 m³ of nominal board volume. This is a calculation example, not a statement of available stock or packed shipping volume.

Ask for the number of boards per pack, pack dimensions and proposed loading quantity separately. Do not assume the nominal board volume equals the space required for a shipment.

4. Name the delivery destination and required date

Include both the destination country and the port or delivery address to be quoted. A country name by itself leaves the delivery scope unclear.

State whether you need a goods-only quotation or a proposal that includes a specified transport scope. Ask suppliers to name the delivery term and location, identify included charges, and list exclusions. Keep production lead time, estimated transport time and your required arrival date separate.

If the project takes deliveries in stages, provide the quantity and required date for each batch. Ask for quotation validity so your team knows when pricing needs to be reconfirmed.

5. Request documents for the proposed product

List the technical documents your project team needs, such as a product data sheet and relevant test reports. Ask whether each document applies to the quoted model and specification. Where a particular standard or approval is required, identify it in the inquiry so availability can be checked before an order is placed.

Also request packing details and product identification information. If samples are needed, ask about sample availability, cost and delivery arrangements. Do not assume a document or sample service is included unless the supplier confirms it.

Copy-and-paste rock wool board inquiry

Hello Taishi team,

Please prepare a quotation for rock wool boards with the following requirements:

Company and contact name:

Destination country and port/address:

Application and project specification:

Board length × width × thickness (mm):

Specified density (kg/m³):

Facing and other required properties:

Quantity and unit:

Required delivery date or batch schedule:

Requested delivery term and transport scope:

Required data sheets, reports or samples:

Please identify the proposed product model, unit price, packing details, lead time, quotation validity and any exclusions. Please mark alternative specifications separately.

Compare the complete proposal

Before choosing a quotation, check that the product model, dimensions, quantity units, packing and delivery scope match your request. A lower unit price may reflect a different thickness, specification or scope of supply. Resolve those differences before treating prices as directly comparable.

Buyer questions we get most

What do you need to prepare a quotation?

Product and density, thickness, facing, quantity, and the destination port. Five lines is enough for us to come back with a price and a lead time.

How quickly will I get a quotation?

Within one working day, factory-direct from Shandong, China.

Are quotations FOB or CIF?

Both — say which you need, and if you want CIF, name the port so the freight is included rather than estimated.
